At present, the project has completed the transformation of 112 road pipeline networks. This year, 27 road pipeline networks will be renovated to ensure that all the projects are completed in the first half of the year. By then, 50,000 tons of sewage will be intercepted into municipal pipelines every day, and the waters in the west of Qianhai and Houhai, including Huiquan Bay, will become cleaner.

According to the person in charge of the relevant departments of the Municipal Public Utilities Bureau, the sewage interception project in the Tuandao River Basin is one of the main infrastructure construction supporting projects for the 2008 Olympic Sailing Competition. . Since the project was launched in 2002, a total of 190 million yuan has been invested, and the renovation of rainwater and sewage pipelines on 112 roads including Jiangsu Road and Daxue Road has been completed successively. Island sewage treatment plant.

Relevant engineering and technical personnel told reporters that large-diameter sewage pipes were used in the construction of the project, and some sewage problems affecting residents' lives were also actively solved, such as some residential buildings such as Guizhou Road, Mingyuexia Road, Tuandao 2nd Road, etc. New sewage pipelines have been laid, so that the domestic sewage generated by these residential buildings can be discharged smoothly.

At present, the rain and sewage pipeline renovation projects of 8 roads including Sifang Road and Huangdao Road are about to start. The sewage interception pipelines of the remaining 19 roads in the Tuandao sewage interception project will also be renovated at the beginning of this year. It is expected that all projects will be completed by the end of June. , then the entire Tuandao Basin will no longer be directly discharged into the sea. According to estimates, the sewage interception in the basin is about 50,000 tons per day. The sewage interception project will incorporate all the sewage discharged from these open ditches and culverts into the municipal sewage pipe network and send it to the Tuandao Sewage Treatment Plant for centralized treatment.
